Rehab Services
Faulty posture and movement dysfunction may predispose an individual to musculoskeletal pain and/or neural pathology. Staff members of the Department of Rehab Services identify and correct faulty posture and movement dysfunction to promote optimal health and function. The role of the physical therapist is to restore function, help alleviate pain, and prevent dysfunction. To achieve these goals, the physical therapist, in cooperation with the patient`s physician and other members of the health care team develop a program designed to achieve specific goals given the patient`s needs, physical ambition, and abilities. Therapies may include, but are not limited to, hands-on techniques, exercise, modalities, and patient education. The overall goal is to restore normal tissue and joint function, strengthen and mobilize the body, and reduce pain.
The Rehab Services Department houses five full-time accredited Physical Therapists. We also have two full-time Physical Therapist/Licensed Athletic Trainers and a full-time Physical Therapist who is Board Certified in Orthopedic Physical Therapy. All have extensive education and clinical training, including post-graduate training in various modes of orthopedic, neurological, and manual therapy. Several of the professional staff are also further trained in specialty areas such as Vestibular Rehabilitation, Women`s Health including incontinence and pelvic pain, Wounds/Burns, Sports Rehab, Industrial Rehab, and a Spine School.
The Rehab Services Department is a state-of-the-art facility designed to meet the needs of all our patients. There are private treatment areas, a hydrotherapy room, and a large open gym area with the latest therapy equipment for functional training. Our ultimate goal is to give our patients the tools they need to contribute a lifestyle of self-care.
